Right on the heels of the Charlottesville riots, Hurricane Harvey made landfall near Rockport, Texas bringing with it death and the loss of property. One of the major headlines concerning this natural disaster had to do with Joel Osteen, a prominent, mega-preacher in Texas who sent a tweet stating that he and his wife will pray for the those affected. The backlash started almost immediately on alot of social media platforms. Many tweets, memes, videos were posted where people were berating Joel and demanding more than “prayers” from him.

9 SepDOES GOD STILL HEAL?
28 JulYou have probably run into an ad like the one below. Such types of posters are common all over the world.
Many flock to these meetings, hoping that they will find remedies for illness affecting them or a loved one. Faith or spiritual healing has been around for a long time, some believe it’s a scam but to others it’s a show of faith in order to get a miracle from God.
Seeking supernatural help for healing is a practice that has happened both outside & in the church.
Brief history of Supernatural healing outside the church
Ancient Egypt and Yin & Yang philosophies in ancient Chinese healing traditions believe that illness came as a result of unbalanced human energy and returning the balance was key to bring healing back to the body.
In Egypt, several ritual practices that were done to bring about healing included chanting, drumming, dancing, incantations & hoaxes that would be done by priests. The Egyptian priests were supposed to be pure enough to connect with spirit guides who would let them know if the patient is ready to be healed or they should remain with their illness because it is intended to teach them a life lesson.
In ancient Egypt – a physical ailment was seen as an outward sign of an inner spiritual issue.
In Ancient Greece, around 4 BC many temples were built to worship a god called Asclepius who was referred to as the god of medicine & healing. Followers claimed they would receive healing just by entering the temples.
The rod of Asclepius, is a snake-entwined staff, commonly seen today as a symbol of medicine.
Those who sought healing would offer sacrifices, and then spend a night in the holiest part of the temple. Any dreams or visions were reported to a priest who would interpret and prescribe the treatment the patient required. Some temples had sacred dogs to lick wounds. There were also non-venomous snakes left to slither on the floor. These snakes were used in the healing rituals.
Healing practices such as Reiki, Yoga, healing touch used today share some similarities to the ancient practices..
Brief history of Supernatural healing in the church
When looking at the Old Testament, there are few references in relation to healing; a good example is when Prophet Elisha directed Naaman to dip himself in the river Jordan 7 times & he would be healed of leprosy. Naaman felt the instruction was insulting & beneath him, So he didn’t want to do it but at the pleading of his servant he did and his skin was restored. 2 Kings 5:1-14
The New Testament on the other hand has a lot of references to healing, mostly done by Jesus, some examples:-
Matthew 8:16
When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.
Matthew 12:15
Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. A large crowd followed him, and he healed all who were ill.
Matthew 14:36
and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.
Jesus also bestowed the power to heal on his disciples as well.
Matthew 10:1
Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
The Early Church
The Early church was characterized by miracles and huge growth as many people heard the gospel & were saved.
In Acts 3 Peter & John heal a lame man and the crowds became astonished and gathered around them, thinking they are powerful healers. Peter corrected them in verse 12 that they haven’t healed the man by their own power but that the crowd had witnessed the power of Jesus Christ; Peter then preached the gospel of salvation to the crowd.
Another example where many were healed is recorded in Acts 5:12-16
The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers used to meet together in Solomon’s Colonnade.13 No one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people. 14 Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. 15 As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by.16 Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits.
From this passage, we can see the apostles were known for healing people. The end result was many started believing in Jesus Christ & the church grew rapidly.
Healing had a purpose for the early church – to show the people of that time that the kingdom of God had come & it was used to support the preaching of the gospel to others. Would it be correct to say that this specific gift of healing has accomplished its purpose & thus ceased with the early church?
God still does heal & restore people, I can personally attest to my mind being healed & restored as I went through my deliverance journey with Pastor Pam Sheppard. But In recent times, we haven’t seen healing situations as recorded in the book of ACTS where huge crowds of sick people legitimately received miraculous healing.
Will the gift of healing as shown by the apostles in the book of ACTS return? – maybe, if it does, it will be to fulfill a specific purpose that God wants.
Nowadays both in the Christian & non-Christian world there are many people seeking supernatural help for healing. The world has methods such as Reiki where people get hands laid on to receive healing. In the church people flock to crusades where the pastor breathes on them, lays hands on them and prophesy healing to the attendees, Christian TV has a lot of programs where people are told to touch the screen & receive healing. Some ministries send prayer cloths, handkerchiefs, oil which have healing power for a nominal fee. One might say they are doing the same as the early church, but are they?
The fruits of some of these healing ministries we have today can help us determine whether God is in it or not. Most ministries are embroiled in some sort of scandal. There are cases where people have come forward stating they were paid to act sick. Innocent people have also suffered as they were deceived into thinking they were healed only to continue suffering from their illness; and in some tragic cases, people have died because they stopped taking medication.
What purpose does healing in current ministries serve? Is it to further the gospel that teaches we can accept Jesus into our hearts by repeating the sinners prayer? It seems to be the case which in itself is a huge red flag since that is not the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Believers at this time need to be more vigilant as deception is the order of the day. God definitely has the power to heal but understand the devil can also perform supernatural acts in order to trick people. People have turned to Reiki, yoga and received immediate healing only to be tormented. In the church people have gone to healing ministries and asked Jesus into their hearts when they actually received the fake Jesus who calls himself Jesus Sananda Emmanuel. When they asked Jesus to come into their hearts, they opened themselves up to be demonized.
It can be confusing to know what to believe. The key is to be undeceived and understand the times we live in.
The enemy is using everything including healing to Lead many into more deception. Therefore we need to learn the wiles & strategies of the enemy to avoid his traps. If you don’t know where to begin started by getting a copy of The Church of the End-Time Zombies.

IS POSITIVE THINKING BIBLICAL?
12 May“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he” Proverbs 23:7
What interpretation do you have about this verse? I was taught that this verse spoke on how I can shape my reality by what I think, that our thoughts have the power to alter our lives, and that we can make ourselves what we want to be.
But does this verse really teach about the power of our thoughts?
While detoxing from religion, one of the main things I learned is that It’s important at all times to consider the context of a bible verse. Some factors to look into when reading the bible is to consider who is the target audience and whether or not the writer was speaking (referring) to someone specific . To assume that every verse written is personally directed to you is a dangerous way of reading the bible.
It’s also good to have an idea of the historical & cultural context of a particular verse. The question to ask is whether or not the passage of scripture is relevant to present day living.
Let’s look at the verse in relation to the rest of the chapter.
Proverbs 23:1-8
1. When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:
2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.
3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.
4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:
7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
8 The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.
The writer was advising someone that even though this person says “Eat & drink”, be careful not to assume that he is a generous man. For the words coming out of his mouth may not match what’s in his heart. why? because “his heart is not with thee”.
Do not be fooled by the words and generous acts of someone, If the generosity doesn’t come from the heart, then he is not a generous person. He acts a certain way because he has evil motives.
So within the context of scripture, it becomes clear that the verse has nothing to do with positive thinking or the power of the mind. Rather, it is addressing hypocrisy. Simply put, people can outwardly act a certain way but their true character is what is in their heart.
So where did this verse get linked to power of thought?
In 1903 a book titled “As a man thinketh” was published by the author James Allen.
James Allen was a British philosophical writer and considered a pioneer of the self-help movement in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. His best known work is the book “As a Man Thinketh” which is likely based on the Biblical verse Proverbs 23:7 which states: “For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.
Some quotes from his book
“A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts.”
“As a being of Power, Intelligence, and Love, and the lord of his own thoughts, man holds the key to every situation, and contains within himself that transforming and regenerative agency by which he may make himself what he wills.”
“If he will link cause and effect by patient practice and investigation….. As a means of obtaining that knowledge of himself. “He that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”; for only by patience, practice, and ceaseless importunity can a man enter the Door of the Temple of Knowledge.”
The book primarily teaches that man is self-sufficient to transform his situations, its starts in the mind and everything else follows.
One of the deceptions that is rampant is believing everything that comes from the devil must have a negative connotation to it. If a teaching is meant to help you become better, the assumption is that there’s no way it came from the devil, based upon a belief that the devil doesn’t want you to be the best you can be! This is not true! The devil is the author of many positive teachings that might even produce some beneficial effects in your life. Nevertheless, that’s a part of the trap,—to make you believe you are embracing something great when you are actually been set up to be demonized.
The church has joined in teaching the power of positive thinking, notably Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, TD Jakes to name a few; many ministers cherry pick verses to back this false doctrine by teaching that if people remain positive and grateful, their situations will change for the better.
It’s alarming that the church has endorsed a teaching that originates from ripping Proverbs 23:7 completely out of context.
By their fruits, you shall know them
What fruits come from this teaching?
It denies people the opportunity to listen to the gospel – instead of people listening to the true gospel of Jesus Christ; they go to church to receive a pep talk telling them that even though they are facing challenges, they can turn it around. How will people know the gospel when they are not even hearing it to begin with? And when they do hear the gospel, it’s a different version that asks them to accept Jesus into their heart.
People are being taught techniques on how to change their thinking from negative to positive with the help of certain activities such as meditation – a practice that facilitates entrance into an altered state of consciousness (ASC). An altered state causes peoples’ chakras to be open & for demons to enter. Pastor Pam has several blogs & videos teaching on how Christians have been deceived into opening their chakras and getting demonized, you can read more on this at:-
Christians Who Open the 7 Chakras Are Demonized!
Also the topic is covered extensively in the book “The Church of the Endtime Zombies”. The link for the paperback & e-book are listed below.

This teaching is also very focused on self & that the power to change is inside of you. Romans 3:23 states that all have fallen short, so we don’t have the power to make ourselves clean from sin, we cannot cause out spirits to be born again by positive thinking. There are some changes people can make in their lives for the better but being born again is something that only the Holy Spirit can do.
This belief in the unregenerated self has given rise to people referring to themselves as “I AM” with views that since humans are made in the image of God, that we are little gods, another false teaching.
Reading a bible verse in its proper context is crucial in the times we live in, it’s easy to be carried away by false doctrine if you don’t question or challenge what you are taught. “As a man thinketh so is he” addresses hypocrisy not the power of our thoughts.

Say No To Charismatic Divination: It’s Not Prophecy! by Pam Sheppard
18 Nov“Divination within the organized church community is called “prophecy” or discernment. Power hungry folk aim at controlling the lives and destinies of gullible people. Pulpits are filled with diviners and soothsayers—“charismatic hype masters”—that have no other message but one that caters to our flesh. Like the occult card layers, the divination of old has progressively worsened in our time because the “church community” is flooded with countless pseudo-prophets as it sweeps across worldwide Christendom, it leaves some devastated people in its path.

“Beware of Angels In The Church” by Pam Sheppard
5 Nov“SOME WANT TO BELIEVE THAT GOD’s angels are the good spirits, that minister to believers by bringing them messages and guiding their lives. Certainly, The angels are “sent forth to minister to the heirs of salvation” (Heb. 1: 14), but not to take the place of Christ or the Holy Spirit. The Apocalypse seems to show that this ministration of angels to the saints on earth, is a ministration of war in the spiritual realm, against the forces of Satan; but there is little indication given of ministry in any other way. After the first Advent, when there was great angelic activity over the wondrous event of the Father bringing the “Firstborn” of the new race (Rom. 8: 29) into the inhabited earth (Heb. 1: 6, R.V.); and again at the Advent of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost to begin His work of forming a Body like unto the Risen Head–and during the early years of the Church–the employment of angels in direct and visible communication with believers, seems to give way to the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit.(Jessie Penn-Lewis)
The entire work of witnessing to Christ, and leading the Church into all truth, has been committed to the Holy Spirit. Therefore all intervention of “angels,” or audible voices from the spiritual realm, claiming to be from God, may be taken as counterfeits of Satan, whose supreme object is to substitute the working of his own wicked spirits in the place of God. In any case, it is best and safest in these days of peril to keep in the path of faith and reliance upon the Holy Spirit of God, working through the word of God.
Fallen angels are getting quite bold these days. But they still have to be invited in. Have any of you been contacted by them?”

Secret Sins Hinder Deliverance
8 JunThere are several reasons why there are no guarantees to deliverance. One of them is that demons are in the driver’s seat where secret sins are concerned.
Actually, the demons always know their target much better than I do. Even if I do everything right and cast the demons out, they know how to connive, scheme and pull the right triggers to set their target up again. For example, I am working with someone right now who is about 90 % free. she is very expressive, articulate and committed but I sense that there is something she is hiding or did not think was important enough to expose.
Sometimes people are unwilling to tell anybody about something they’ve done in their past because it is so embarrassing. they also anticipate judgment and criticism. This is a device that evil spirits often employ in order to keep a person from breaking free. It is important to be able to trust the deliverance worker with whom you are exposing the secret sins of your past and present because as The Lord said, it is the truth that really sets a captive free. Finding the legal rights that evil spirits are holding on to is like trying to find the proverbial needle in a haystack. that is the reason why I developed the deliverance counseling model. My approach to deliverance is about finding that needle and plucking it out. This process takes time.
What religious people expect is that they don’t need to expose their dark secrets because they assume that a a deliverance minister is so anointed and God himself will tell him or her what is hidden. On occasion He does. yet that is rare.
so when I get these calls where the desperate captive says “pray for me,” I generally know what they mean. They assume if I can cast out their demons! I should know what to pray for and therefore they don’t need to tell me their business. I am just going to supernaturally know what to do and they can keep their secrets to themselves.
Here is a noteworthy incident.
consider the case of Laura. I was shown in a dream that Laura was about to commit suicide because she had fornicated with her husband’s former girlfriend. The three of them had been friends long before Laura married Sam. The two women were secretly sleeping with each other while one of them was also sleeping with Sam. Now that Laura had married Sam, the other woman, Doris, threatened to tell Sam out of spite. This was working on Laura’s mind. A former addict, she relapsed as a Charismatic Christian and had come to me for deliverance. she could not stop drinking yet she was a faithful Charismatic churchgoer who also spoke in tongues.
So Laura’s secret was revealed to me in a supernatural way. I was also shown that Laura would try to commit suicide as well as kill her young child that very day. I ran to Laura’s house, and sure enough, the place was pitch black on a sunny day, reeking of the smell of five or more huge garbage bags filled with empty bear cans. Laura was also saying strange things like her child was demon possessed, acting like she wanted to harm her.
I called the father and asked him to come and get the child! and then I packed up Laura and took her with me? that very day,
I cast demons from Laura, and from my understanding, she has not relapsed in 30 years, serving as an addiction counselor and a nurse most of that time.
So it would seem all was well and that this woman was successfully delivered because God intervened and told her secrets to me.
But guess what?
It was all a trick of a religious spirit.
The supernatural info I received came from the enemy. How do I know? Because The evil spirits turned around and used Laura against me in more ways than I can describe in this post. The supernatural exposure was a set up, aimed not at me delivering her but in setting ME up. if you have my books, then read up on the one I call LAURA, http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/pam_s911 Laura is mentioned in Come out of her, God’s People, and a few other books, as I learned a lot from my work with her.
So I say, if you need deliverance, you may need to EXPOSE YOURSELF. otherwise, don’t seek me to set you free. Just grit your teeth and bear it. And if I do become your deliverance worker, don’t blame me for not being able to set you free. blame the fact that you hid the truth.
Fear Can Kill Ya!!!
5 AugI am now convinced that The Lord has prophetic gifts for me but I am being both trained by Him and tested by the enemy.Over the last year, things that are about to happened have popped into my head just before they did and I have wondered why. A thought comes and that same day, the thought materializes and happens as I saw it. I say to myself, hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Then it happened two days ago. I was on my way to the hair dresser and the thought popped into my head that I would take sick in the shop and the hairdresser would call for an ambulance.
It did not happen.
So what was THAT all about? Well, because I have had about four or five times this year where a thought popped into my head AND IT HAPPENED, I was supposed to think that because the thought popped in my head THIS TIME, that it would be on target again and that I would shortly be headed for the hospital.
I was supposed to panic and actually make it happen with fear.
It did not happen.
Why not? well first of all, I did not assume that all of those other instances were God. I was neutral about it and actually it did not even come to me how every time this has happened before, it was on target.
Then again, I was in a tough, fighting mood. I got out the car ready for anything. I was in the heart of the ghetto in this town.
My life was challenged about five minutes after I had the thought that I would be in an ambulance.
What should happen as I was crossing the street to go to the shop, a young man, sped around the corner of a high traffic block at about 65 miles an hour. I jumped back and shook my fist at him. if I did not jump back, I would have been road kill. The young man smiled and kept speeding as I yelled at him, shaking my fist.
felt like I was in the ole Richard Pryor movie called CAR WASH. LOL
Across the street, sprawled out on the stoop were two idle men, drinking. Both men saw what had just happened and said “Lady, who you about to kill today? I said “I am here to kick ass!” They broke out laughing and said “well we better get out a yo way!!!”
So I say all of this to say that I am not afraid of dying. That is what is keeping me alive. A lack of fear.
I have an online ministry called RESCUE. If you are interested in a 14 day trial to see if we meet your particular needs, call 518-477-5759 for further information.
Why Charismatics and Pentecostals Can’t Try the Spirits
28 JunBy Pam Sheppard of RESCUE ONLINE MINISTRIES
What I perceive among Charismatics and Pentecostals is a strange epidemic that I did not perceive to be in control in the Denominations – a kind of contagious disease – spreading itself among gullible people and rendering them incapable of commonsense, objectivity and intelligent thought. Those who have embraced this delusion seem totally unaware of the irrationalism that grips them. They are mesmerized by a counterfeit, false power. What do I say about such people? Well, I perceive that they are intoxicated- that like drunkards, they are “under the influence” of a STRONG DELUSION, that they should believe a LIE …” (2 Thessalonians. 2:11)
I was once of a similar mindset. How did I come out of it? Well, I said a little, but powerful prayer. I said “Lord., expose the darkness that is around me.” That prayer actually is very similar to the Lord’s prayer. Lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil or “the evil one.”
My prayer was powerful because of my doubts. The year was 2002. I became skeptical of the Charismatic Movement because I had recently discovered that a tongue-talking believer who also prophesied and discerned demons was full of them herself and also, that she was not born again. . Then again, I had not completely lost my commonsense. Logically speaking, I wondered “how many other Charismatics and Pentecostals, including myself, were also demonized and living under strong delusion?”
The answer to this question is astounding. Millions upon millions, maybe more.
Here is my main point in a nutshell. If you are a Charismatic or a Pentecostal, or one who seeks signs and wonders and who also claims that you walk comfortably in the realm of the supernatural, then the only way you can try the spirits is to assume that EVERY supernatural experience that you have ever experienced was demonically instigated and inspired. Throw it all in the garbage and count it as dung!!! If the Holy Spirit was the source of any of these experience, He will bring it to light.
This is what I did to become un-deceived. I left nothing unexamined, not even my salvation experience as it too was very supernatural. Here is what you need to know.
1. God resists the proud but He gives grace to the humble. You must learn your weak points including every area of vulnerability. You will need to swallow your pride and come to terms with the fact that a religious demon is assigned to you and he knows your weaknesses better than YOU know them. Quite frankly, he has been having loads of fun laughing at you. When you look back, you need to come to terms with what was it about you that caused you to fall into the enemy’s trap. For if you don’t do a complete self-examination, the seducing spirits will regain his territory in you. A part of your humility needs to be a realization that you must always be vigilant and on guard for attacks that come through people and things around you, or from your own flesh.
2. We are living in the church age of Laodicea. Laodicea is a spiritually arrogant age. Here are the words of a RESCUE member, a former Charismatic that definitely ring true as to why Pentecostals and Charismatics cannot try the spirits:
I just realized a common theme in the Charismatic belief system – at least it has been in my entire life. You can never be satisfied or at peace with your life, because there is always supposed to be MORE. However much money you make, you’re supposed to have more. Whatever your ministry is, it’s supposed to be bigger. You’re never healthy enough, happy enough, spiritual enough, anything enough.
I’m realizing, all my life, all I wanted was to be at peace with & enjoy my life, but I couldn’t, because the charismatic belief system was ingrained too deeply. It was called being “complacent” or “lukewarm,” or “placing limits on God.” Now that I’m unlearning a lot of these things, I’m actually feeling more satisfied with my life & at peace than was ever possible before. It’s like they’d have you think you should be happier because of believing in all these “promises,” but the opposite is true.
Trying to undeceive signs and wonders seekers who assume their supernatural experiences ALL came from God is impossible to man, like trying to put a camel through the eye of a needle. But all things are possible with God. If you are such a person, the reason why it is impossible to man is because of your spiritual arrogance and pride. You will have to come to terms with the fact that the enemy has successfully enacted a scam on you. This scam has cost you thousands of your hard-earned tithes. A religious demon said “thus saith the Lord” and you believed him. Consequently, the enemy is laughing at you.
Can you deal with this kind of mockery? I did. Wherever the Lord exposed the enemy, I was done. I spoke in tongues for 25 years. That is over. Done. I founded a church based on Charismatic doctrine and principles. Pastored it for 12 years. Its done. Closed. I could go on and on.
I paid the price to be undeceived. You will have to do the same.

Prophetic Dreams and “Confirmation.”
10 JunAt times, theHoly Spirit WILL confirm by a dream. When He does, it will not be an assumption. IT WILL BE FACT AND TRUTH THAT SETS YOU FREE.
Take it from one who knows. Most confirmation comes from the devil. Here is a personal experience.
I was set up to sin with a dream. More than once!
In 1980, I had a dream that I saw a minister standing on my church’s steps, with a robe across his arm. He looked at me and said, “Girl, I’m gonna marry You!” In the dream, he was wearing a navy blue suit purchased from Sears and a pair of navy blue swede shoes.
Two weeks later, on a Sunday morning, “a force” was trying to stop me from going to church. I “assumed” it was the devil. So I persevered and went out of the door, walking to church. Looking back today, I realize that it was God who tried to stop me from going, or at least an angel sent from God. When I arrived, the new visiting pastor was at the church, robed and wearing a navy blue suit and blue swede shoes. I was sitting in the congregation and he set his eyes on me from the pulpit chair. Later that evening, my pastor called, claiming that the visiting pastor wanted to meet me. When we met he said “Girl, I’m gonna marry you cause you sooooo pretty!” I asked, where did you buy your suit? He said “Sears and Roebuck.”
Plenty of confirmation here!. Without the dream and all of this “confirmation”, I would never have given this man a second glance. He was simply not my type. So because of all of this “confirmation,” I assumed “this must be God.” To make a long story short, it was not God. This minister was one of the worst men to ever enter into my life. He was a Satanic setup for things that could have literally “taken me down and out!.” So when you have circumstances occur that are similar, with all kinds of confirmation, a try the spirits tip is this—-
Run like a bat let out of hell. It’s the devil.
If you have had a dream that has you puzzled, call 518-477-5759.

2012: The Prophetic Year of Exposure
19 Jan The Lord declared that the truth shall set us free. Therefore, spiritual freedom is my overall goal of deliverance. For until the captive is free from religiosity, he will never experience the liberty that truth brings. Therefore, Pam Sheppard Ministries and Sheppard Counseling Center are geared toward helping a captive to take a stand for his own well-being and ultimate survival. For it makes no sense that a believer in Jesus Christ should religiously misapply scripture like “turning the other cheek” when the attack is actually coming from a demon who is hell-bent on destroying him. Why should he continue to sacrifice himself for those who abuse him in the church? Why should a disciple of Jesus have an insatiable desire to manipulate and control others with religiosity, simply because he has an unhealthy striving for recognition, position and power? Why should a saint live with a constant fear of being submerged by others, so that he is compelled to ascend himself above them, just to survive? Why should a overcomer in Christ Jesus be a mealy-mouthed, passive person, who breaks those in his immediate environment with his legalistic restrictions and complaints? Why must a prophet think that he must speak words into the lives of the brethren like he was a psychic, just for the sake of power and manipulation? Therefore, where deliverance is concerned, I go the extra mile for Jesus by creating liberating conditions within a captive’s soul—a spiritual blockade to the re-infestation by the religious demon.
It is important to note that the creation of a flawless disciple is not within my domain. As both a minister and a counselor, I can only help a captive to become free by providing an opportunity for spiritual insight. For me, perfection is to be demon free and to face truth every day. It should be clear from every insight presented in Faces of the Religious Demon” that where religiosity is concerned, we can never exhaust spiritual warfare by a single approach. This demon must be combated over and over again from various angles and perspectives. It is so difficult to end this book because I see a new face everyday and I am tempted to sit down and write about it. Every new face springs from a variety of sources and factors and thereby I have to assume new strategies. I am committed to each and every captive that comes my way to examine his attitudes, his personality and his issues.
Even though I believe that “the house is burning,”, in spite of the spiritual damage that may have occurred within an organized church, recovery in Christ is inevitable because of the words of the Lord, No one will be able to pluck the Lord’s sheep out of His hand. He will ALWAYS prepare a way of escape. If a way of escape cannot be found, I personally believe that most of those who seem to have suffered irreparable damage are among those whom our Lord never knew. Among the saints, there are also the lukewarm ones, whom the Lord shall spit out of His mouth. Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights. God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all. The Lord Jesus said that what is covered shall be uncovered and what is hid shall be made known. He also said that you “shall know them by their fruit.”
My personal testimony stands as a beacon of light in the midst of darkness in the church. Darkness surrounded me on all sides but the Lord saw to it that darkness did not overcome me by smothering my light. Furthermore, I believe that the Father of lights has an appointed time when the false religious demon that has mixed itself with the children of light shall be exposed in each and every situation. I believe that the appointed time for exposure is at hand today. In Isaiah 49, the Lord speaks through the prophet and says that in an acceptable time, He has heard us and in the day of salvation, He helps us. In an acceptable time, He heard me, and in the day of my salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ helped me by empowering me to set many captives free.
In the day of exposure, the children of darkness are stumbling everywhere, causing them to reveal themselves of their own accord. Even though the wheat and the tare will continue to grow together until the second coming of our Lord of the Harvest, this does not mean that we will not be able to discern the tares. There are times when the tares and the wheat are almost identical in appearance. To break it down further, those who profess to be saved and who are not will be used by demons to hinder you. However, if you walk in the light as Jesus is the light, you will have the victory.
Yes, this is the time of exposure. Lately, people who I have believed were truly saved have themselves looked me in the face and declared “I never believed.” From the Internet to my own community and even significant people among my family and friends–people who have professed the faith for years–are now revealing from their own hearts that they are still children of darkness. As I continue to walk in the light, darkness backs up. How does such a thing happen? Well, invariably some do have faith in His name, but they anchor their faith in a delusion, an illusion or an obsession, and end up believing that they are saved when they are not.
So this is the year of exposure. In 2012, if you have been deceived and you go before God and pray “Father, expose the darkness,” the Lord will do it. Prepare to stand strong and steady for He will blow truth at you like a bold wind.
