Spiritual Gifts and the God Complex

4 Dec

Today, I was asked two interesting questions:

  1. Can a human being have supernatural powers that come from the human being himself and not from either God or the devil?
  2. So is all of that chakra balancing stuff is power from fallen angels/demons when a person meditates or visualizes?
A quick answer to question 1 and 2  in this order is no and yes.

Superhero buffs and signs and wonders seekers who personally  have a god complex would have answered these  two questions diametrically opposed to my answers.  I understand.  Forty years ago, I too  agreed with the opposite opinion. Back in 1974, there was evidence that I had healing power and several other “abilities.” .  Since I was an atheist who did not believe in the existence of either God or the devil, I thought this healing power was MINE, emanating from ME! I did not have a god complex because I did not believe in God at that time.  So what I called this “strange thing” was psychic power. Psychic power is attributed to human beings, a power said  to emanate neither from God nor Satan but from within the person.  Also called extra sensory perception or ESP, these super-human abilities include but are not limited to
  1. apportation: materialization, disappearance or movement of objects
  2. automatic writing
  3. astral projection nor out-of-body experiences
  4. bi-location: being in more than one place at a time
  5. clairvoyance
  6. divination
  7. death-warning A vision of a living person prior to their death
  8. dowsing
  9. energy medicine as a form of healing
  10. precognition in dreams (seeing the future)
  11. levitation.
  12. mediumship or channeling
  13. telepathy and several others

Looking at this list, between 1974-1977, I experienced 10 out of the 13  “abilities.” What I discovered is that all of these abilities occurred immediately after I experienced #12. I was involved in a séance and I witnessed a spirit manifestation.  The very next day, I was in communication with supernatural beings  through number 2, “automatic writing.”   The strategy is that these beings impart what we falsely believe to be  psychic powers to those they communicate with. Fallen angels  pretend that the spiritual abilities we manifest  are innate when they are not.  These abilities come from them.

Take number 9, energy healing.  I did not know what it was but as I recall, this power came upon me AFTER I had that séance and became a channel. Almost immediately thereafter, I  discovered that I had this strange ability where I sucked out pain from people’s bodies and their emotions  with my hands. Once I became born again, the devil tricked me by giving me a prophecy in the mouth of a 9-year-old girl, Leandro. I never doubted or even questioned that word for 25 years, assuming it came from God when it did not. The word “Waters of heaven shall heal,” were in the prophecy so I called my ministry “healing waters.” Once I discovered while writing the Fake Jesus that healing waters is one of Maitreya’s keywords, I immediately dropped it and became Pam Sheppard Ministries.

So when I discuss healing, I come from a place of personal experience. In fact,  its been over 30 years since that prophecy came forth, and with the  sickness and  death  of my mother a year ago, it has once again been confirmed to me that the spiritual welfare of a person’s soul is much more important than the healing of his body. My mother  was quite wicked , a classic narcissist. Her sickness completely broke her soul down wherein she became   a different person. I watched her get to a point where nothing was on her mind but God delivering her.   I also personally witnessed how God used CANCER to destroy the works of rejection the enemy used my mother to inflict upon me Decades  of evil were demolished by God as her body was destroyed  to save her soul.

Surely, the conversion and rebirth of a man through the working of the Holy Spirit has priority over the healing of disease. Sickness or infirmity cannot keep a person out of the Kingdom of Heaven, but without the forgiveness of sins and the experience of rebirth, we shall not even see the Kingdom of God. I believe my mother entered in and cancer was used to accomplish a task that seemed impossible.

Even though I used healing  as an example, I experienced 9 other  abilities on the above  list.  If those powers were innately mine, then I would still have them.  However, once I was born again in 1977, I lost 8  of them, other than healing and precognitive dreaming.  That is because I assumed that energy healing was the same as faith healing, when energy healing is from the devil and the gift of healing is from the Holy Spirit.  At the Lord’s request, I gave up energy healing and so I can touch anyone today  and I no longer feel ANYTHING emanating from them.  Once I found out that the dreams of the future came from the devil, I resisted them by rebuking that spirit. So ten dreams a night turned into about one precognitive dream a year. The truth is that  most of the time, any  dream  i have about the future today is usually  from God.

Is the Bible A Magical Book?

2 Feb

There is a command in First John 4:1 to “Try the spirits.” Why? Because “many false prophets are gone out into the world.” Several things are involved in this business of trying the spirits. Certainly, we must know the scriptures to be able to successfully try the spirits. Then again, without a love for the truth, we will most likely be deceived. When there is the love for the truth, spiritual discernment is enhanced.

We need to keep in mind that we do not need to know everything in order to try the spirits. We do not even need to know all about the subject at hand to try the spirits. If we know enough to uproot some of the foundation of a given position we can know that the whole thing is wrong. For example, I remember twenty years ago, that I heard the testimony and read the book of Mary Baxter, “The Revelation of Hell.” She wrote and spoke about how she went to hell and there were ferocious demons there who were kind of the “correction officers” of hell. Well, I was impressed with her revelation until I realized that the scriptures report that Jesus has the keys to hell and death. Therefore, Satan and his demons are not in hell. Only those fallen angels from Noah’ Day and the Flood have been jailed there. According to the scriptures, demons are not in control of hell. Jesus is. Therefore, I don’t need to hear anymore about Baxter’s revelation because it contradicts scripture. Those that are familiar with the scriptures are less likely to be deceived,as long as they have rightly divided the word.

Moreover, the bible should not be used as if it was some sort of mystery book for the purpose of divination.

When seekers begin their journey into the occult arts, they look for a divination system that will allow them to predict future events. Tarot cards, crystal balls, bones, ash, tea leaves, coffee grounds–literally ANYTHING–to help the diviner focus and concentrate. For example, the I Ching is an ancient Chinese book that is used to guide the decision-making process. You open it up randomly, and there you will find a proverb or a saying by Confucius which is used as a means to interpret the diviner’s immediate personal situation in order to make a decision.

In like manner, Christians unknowingly use the scriptures as if it were an I Ching. They have a particular problem, and then they open the bible randomly, look down and fix their eyes on a particular verse. Whatever the verse says is then interpreted in light of the presenting situation. This is divination. Sometimes the Lord will use a similar method, not in an effort to reveal the future but to teach. For example, moments after I was born again on March 29, 1977 on a Monday at 4pm, I opened the bible that I had recently purchased. I looked down at John 3. “You must be born again. That which is flesh is flesh. That which is spirit is spirit. The wind blows, etc. Instantly I understood what had just happened to me. So the Lord used this method to teach me. He has never used it to reveal the future but the enemy does use the scriptures in that way. So, be careful.

So I caution you that even though the bible is a mystery book, it is not mysterious in a occultic sense. It is not a magical jigsaw puzzle where all you have to do is open it, and find your missing piece to guide you to make this or that decision. The mystery is that in order to really understand it, you need to have an unction from the Holy Ghost to do so, otherwise, it is a dead book to the unsaved. The gospel is foolishness to those who are in darkness, without the revelation of the Holy Ghost to guide their understanding.

That said, it is also noteworthy to mention that many who call themselves “bible believing” very often do not apply commonsense to their rather rigid scriptural interpretations of present day circumstances and conditions that were not a part of the conscious awareness of biblical writers 2 or more thousand years ago. I personally believe that “God can do what He wants to do whether it is covered in the bible or not.” Certainly, He will not contradict His written word, but that doesn’t mean that the Lord will not do something that is not specifically covered by it.

The book “the New Idolatry” compares new age occultism to the Charismatic Movement.  Here is a brief excerpt from the New Idolatry, a book  that needs to be a part of your library:

“Consider a Christian woman who takes the scriptures that say ‘submit to your husband’ which leads her to passively accept persistent battery from her husband’s fists because the bible says that God hates divorce. So she remains in a godless marriage because of her faulty interpretation of the bible.  Because she is a “bible-believing” Christian, she believes that she has no other choice but to submit to her husband’s every wish and demand, regardless of how demoralizing or revolting.”

Christian Deliverance and Counseling Churchfolk by Pastor Pam

13 Jan

I have been a licensed therapist since 1973 and an ordained minister since 1981.  Most of the  demonically tormented people who I have counseled in the last ten years were active members of charismatic and Pentecostal churches. Some of them were set free but others remain tormented. So it no longer comes as a surprise to me that some of them will never find relief from demonic torment.  In pastoral counseling, it is an empirical fact that white magic practitioners who attend Christian churches are so shackled to the sin of idolatry, that release from demonic captivity is unobtainable without a thorough confession and renunciation of charismatic witchcraft.  As a consequence, the spiritual pride deeply rooted in the charismatic movement remains the stumbling block as “God resists the proud.”

In the book the New Idolatry,”  a lecture concerning demonism and psychotherapy by  German psychiatrist Alfred Lechler shed a somber light on demonic captivity: In the words of Dr. Lechler:

“What then must we regard as the cause of demonic enslavement or possession?  If we enquire closely from such people as bear the marks we have just mentioned, we very often find in their background the use of magic means such as are employed in black magic–acts of charming or being charmed, the sin of fortune-telling or visits to fortune tellers and card layers, and participation in spiritist sessions.  Black magic is much more prevalent than is ordinarily assumed…When we look into the Bible, we note that it too is well acquainted with enchantment.  It is in Acts 19 described as a ‘prying art.’ (here we also find mention of magic books.)[1]

I must concur with the late Dr. Lechler, a German who practiced psychiatry before I was born.  Five or more decades later,  what I have found astounding is that in practically every case of demonic torment among my own Christian clients, a common factor is that 95 percent of them were not demon possessed BEFORE they went to a charismatic, “word of faith, non-denominational  church.  Some passive Christians are like helpless zombies, unable to take corrective action where necessary.  On the charismatic side, good people have been deceived into accepting all things supernatural as “of the Lord’ and consequently, they have made ‘a voice from God’ as the deciding factor in every matter, both trivial and important.  Passive believers have also suppressed their personalities to such an extent that they can’t distinguish their own persona from the demonic influences that bind them.[1]

The difference between charismatic divination and occultism lies in the fact that generally the dreams, visions and prophetic messages of charismatic practitioners are usually spontaneous experiences, which “come over” or “overtake” the professing Christian without apparent preparation or mental volition on his or her part.  For this reason, the gullible and unsuspecting assume that the supernatural information must be from God.  On the other hand, psychics make use of omens, potions, amulets, tarot cards,  the I Ching, tea leaves, crystal balls, Ouija boards and a plethora of other tools to interpret the signs believed to be in them  to predict the future.

Charismatic diviners have the same purpose.  They simply use tools that they claim are the nine biblical gifts of the Holy Ghost, particularly those labeled “the revelation gifts:” a word of knowledge, a word of wisdom and the discerning of spirits.  What charismatic teachers fail to understand is that Paul wrote the Corinthian letter about these gifts without defining them or explaining any specifics as to how they operate.  In fact, no texts in the Bible actually define these gifts.       In the midst of crowds of gatherers, people come to be led by shamanistic men and women who know how to “turn them on” with just a wave of a hand. On more than one occasion,  I watched in amazement as  well-known TV evangelist TD Jakes ordered apparently sensible people to turn to their neighbor and with a wave of their hand, shake their neighbor’s problems away. To watch the people immediately obey without thinking at all was a scary thing indeed. Anyone with a sound mind would know that problems do not “fly away” by a wave of the hand.

If you are either demonized or tormented, we offer you hope that your torment is a sign that if you have experienced a false conversion and you are presently being tormented, the torment itself is a sign that God intends to save you.  Demons and fallen angels do not torment those whom  they KNOW will never be saved. It is only the deceived among the elect of God who are under torment right now.  If you are one of God’s people who has been deceived while attending a Pentecostal, Charismatic or a Denominational Church, we can help you break the contract that you made with the fake Jesus.

“Together with spiritist activities, magic stands in a class of its own in relation to other sins, when it includes an appeal to Satan’s services or even a formal pact with Satan.  The Bible speaks of this too (Isaiah 28:15-18).  For by invoking Satan, man yields himself unequivocally to powers of darkness, in that he attempts by magic and the help of Satanic power to gain something that God has forbidden or withheld.”[2]

Charismatic Divination

3 Jan

“New Age Divination is a branch of white magic whose primary goal is to obtain secret knowledge, particularly supernatural insight into the future.  Likewise, religious divination is the art of producing results beyond human ability and claiming that Almighty God is the source, when in reality, invisible superhuman entities manifested the result” (Idolatry,2011)

I cannot explain how many times this happened to me in the religious organization. I also participated in this type of divination unknowingly in the first years. As God began to open my eyes, I began to see the error in this type of participation and promptly stopped when He would reveal things.

One event was when I was worshiping during the beginning of service. We would always open service with music. The main objective was to “get closer to God.” This is impossible because once a person is saved, God never leaves us. We are to walk in faith, not by sight or feeling. This did not stop me every week however in the beginning to seek out that “feel good feeling.” In my ignorance, I believed that I had to “strive” to have a relationship with the Lord. This is an “out-and-out” sin as the Bible states we cannot please God without faith. While in worship one Sunday, about 2 years before I had left the “church” for good, I was in full worship, totally given over to emotion, when only the Holy Spirit could have  intervened. I know the Lord spoke to me on that day..He didn’t speak to me very often and it wasn’t like He was in my ear..His words were, “They worship me with their mouths, but their hearts are far away from me!”

This stopped me in my tracks and I became sober in an instant. No longer lost in an altered state, His words pierced me and it was the beginning of the end of the fantasy for me. Reality set in, my arms and hands went to my sides and from then on, I never, danced or worshiped in that way again.

Thinking that there was something wrong with me, I sought to find out instead of heeding what was said to me on that day. I eventually understood that the desire that was in me was never of God to begin with and when it was removed by God, I never felt the need to do it anymore. I believe God felt that “I was ready for the Truth.”

Since then I have never looked back but have kept my hand to the plow, looking forward. Like my mentor Pam, I do not want to become a pillar of salt by going back to Egypt. Gone are the days of doublemindedness. I have one mind, one heart and they belong to the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Freedom From Witchcraft Spells and Sex Magic

13 Dec

Witchcraft spells and sex magic, is the topic of this series of blog posts. What does a believer need to know about witchcraft? As the apostle Paul said, the devil stalks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Let us remain vigilant and alert to his dirty tricks and demonic wiles. How do witches take control of their victims? What exact tactics do they employ?

In the last article…

In the last article, Patrice, an x-witch turned Christian, gave us an inside look into the kingdom of darkness, and how she used sex magic, as a means of domination and control. I wanted Patrice to give us more details on how witches can put folks into bondage. Sex magic and love spells are meant to force victims into unwanted sexual relationships. In the case of sex magic, the witch wants to enslave victims into sexual relations.

Beware…Be vigilant and be advised…

If you suspect that your under this type of witchcraft spell, Patrice’s insights may be of help to you. But my best suggestion is that you sign-up for mentoring with Pam Sheppard. Pam Sheppard has over 25 years of pastoral experience. Her expertise in deliverance mentoring, is second to none. If you need help, she will set you free over telephone, so call 888-818-1117.

Fetishes and Christian Magic

8 Dec

Fetishes and Christian Magic: An Excerpt From the New Idolatry
Taken from Chapter 2

Within the history of religion in general, fetishism is a form of magic, wherein an artificial object is revered and regarded as powerful enough to ensure protection. Likewise an amulet is a power-charged fetish for protection against magic and demons.[13] Those who revere and depend on fetishes and amulets are in danger of transgressing the second commandment, namely, not to make any graven images.

Even a cross suspended from a necklace has a magical meaning. Written in 1972, the passing of three decades reveals that the problem has progressively worsened:

“Many a Christian worker thinks so. It is evident here that Christianity has become infected with magic influences. According to the New Testament this intrusion of magic elements turns the Christian faith into a matter of materialism and idolatry. Pastoral experience shows in many cases how this superstition captivates men and subjects them to magical influences. It is not seldom that houses protected by fire charms and other fetishes and amulets become haunted. [14]

Prayer and Charismatic Witchcraft

Even prayer can be dangerous because it descends into charismatic witchcraft when the one who prays seeks to control the lives of others. Soulish prayers of this kind energizes psychic power by projecting one’s thought on to the persons that they are praying for, by saying that such and such a person ‘shall’ do this or that. Such prayers make demands upon God to “make something happen. According to Jessie Penn Lewis,

“Every prayer should be directed Godward, and should never be a telling the Lord what to do for somebody else. We may pray that God will direct them what to do, but we ought not to say that they ‘must’ do what WE THINK is God’s will they should do, or even that they ‘shall not’ do what we know is wrong.”[15]

I observed in a video clip a vivid depiction of a charismatic witchcraft prayer offered by well-known evangelist and associate of charismatic mega prophetess Juanita Bynum, Rev. Cindy Trimm. Before a congregation of at least a few thousand, Trimm walked up and down the platform, supposedly praying, bellowing loudly: “I decree this and I proclaim that.” With this esoteric, occultic prayer, rather than God the Father of the trinity, she really was addressing fallen angels.

Ashtar: This photo is one of many images of him.

Once Trimm loudly proclaimed, “ Father, I decree that the spirit of the Ashtar shall fall upon all the people, from one end of the congregation to another, the people fell slain in the spirit in what looked like ocean waves. Ashtar is one of the gods who calls himself an ascended master who channels message through New Age mediums. Ashtar claims to be the military general of the fallen angel known as Jesus Sananda Emmanuel, the one I call “the Fake Jesus.” In fact, when Charismatics praise and give thanks to Jesus, Sananda is the one who receives the worship and the adoration because the fake Jesus is the invisible god behind the practice of charismatic witchcraft.
