The Narcissistic Personality and Spiritual Strangeness

When bordering on mental illness, a phrase that I have coined called “spiritual strangeness”can manifest in deep depression, the hearing of voices, visual appearances that are invisible to others and manifestations of narcissistic personality disorders of different varieties. (Where the demon of Jezebel is concerned, at the core of the mental illness is a pride system that reinforces false or counterfeit religious beliefs and practices. Psychic phenomena like telekinesis and astral travel emanate from the witchcraft side of the face of Jezebel.

As such, when supernatural manifestations are present, the spirit of Jezebel is generally the lead demon. The Jezebel demon is also at the root of self absorption, where legalism, perfectionism and self righteousness will progressively debilitate
the soul. I suspected that previously mentioned 92 year old Bertha was also personality disordered, particularly as it relates to her perfectionism and the confusion and despondency she experienced when even mildly challenged or suspected of being in error. Although Bertha manifested symptoms of perfectionism, a more classic influence of the face of Jezebel is more clearly evident in a professing Christian whose name I have changed to Pearl.

Claiming to be a doctor of holistic medicine, Pearl contacted me by email with a rather desperate and impertinent cry for a deliverance from an alleged physical infirmity that she believed to be demonic. She reported that she was without any physical strength, continuing to cough, vomit and remained without appetite. By virtue of her New Age profession alone, I was immediately aware that the spirit of witchcraft was definitely unmistakable. Moreover, the fact that Pearl professed faith in Jesus Christ while simultaneously misquoting the Lord frequently, I suspected that I was dealing with not only Jezebel, but perhaps the spirit of the Anti-Christ as well.

For example, Pearl views herself as “Christ-like”, not at all considering that her 30 year practice of homeopathic healing is an occult practice, nor would she consider
that her own beliefs could in any way be demonic. Working with a captive bound to the Jezebel spirit is no easy task. The complexity of the situation is that when helpless and in the middle of a crisis, the captive is usually cooperative and approachable. Due to the urgency of Pearl’s situation and the importunity of her emails and her phone calls, I overruled the steps and stages of my usual procedure. I confronted the demons by telephone in order to bring Pearl some immediate relief.

By reversing the process, I cast out the demon of torment first so that Pearl would be free to work on her other issues and problems. For example, her adult son had threatened to commit suicide if Pearl did not stop interfering in his life. As is the case with this personality type and the Jezebel spirit, Pearl’s life is one of chaos, instability, confusion and broken relationships. Once I exercised the authority of the Name of Jesus over the demon of torment, the spirit of Jezebel and the spirit of the Anti-Christ were clearly exposed, discernible in Pearl’s transparent self love and obvious sense of superiority. Pearl obtained immediate relief.

Interpreting her well being as a sign of a complete deliverance, Pearl backed off from any further counseling, disregarding and opposing all of my suggestions and comments that she was not at all “delivered.” With much debate and contention, Pearl conceded that “the Lord DID use me to set her free,” but she vehemently refused to address those underlying characteristics that permeate her very proud personality. Considering the length of time that she has been narcissistic, it is only logical that she would tenaciously defend her own self concept. Therefore, in Pearl’s mind, she is “as SHE says she is”—loving, giving, honorable, forthright, righteous, selfless, the perfect mother, superior—to name but a few.

It is apparent to me that Pearl is one of the unsaved professing to be saved. Notwithstanding, in Pearl’s mind, she is “Christ-like” even though she defied several of His words and His ways as evidenced in her emails. Once relieved of torment, the contradictions between Pearl’s actual character and her idealized image of herself became so obvious that it was amazing that she could not perceive it with her own self proclaimed intelligence.

On the contrary, Pearl is consistent in her ability to ignore the unconcealed. In fact, Pearl would only accept the reality of demons in her life as being sent to her through the jealous witchcraft practices of others, never once considering that she could be in any way responsible for her own torment. This inherent blind spot coupled with her adamant resistance to authority is the most serious obstacle to a complete deliverance. Furthermore, within her emails are numerous statements that would cause a knowledgeable Christian to seriously question her salvation.

Unwilling to be broken in spirit, the religious demon’s motive is self evident. Pearl’s solution is to do away with all demonic doorways of a personal nature by declaring herself “above it all.”Pride has hindered Pearl from taking a realistic assessment of those un-submitted areas of her soul. As Paul wrote, “God resists the proud but give grace to the humble.” (James 4:7)

Witchcraft: A Work of the Flesh

8 Nov

By Pastor Pam Sheppard

If you EVER dabbled in the occult, then your personality is susceptible to witchcraft as a work of your flesh. What do you do with a work of the flesh? YOU CRUCIFY IT. Treat it like it is DEAD! You cannot cast out what is a part of your personality.

If you have any questions you can email rescueonfb@icloud.com or call 1-888-818-1117.

People Pleasing, the Flesh and Resisting the Devil

25 May

By Pastor Pam

Consider Jonah and his disobedience and sudden flight from God to a ship filled with men about to be shipwrecked because of Jonah’s folly. So to find out why they suddenly entered into a severe storm, the men on board cast lots and the lot fell to Jonah. Once Jonah was revealed, he confessed. You would have thought that the men would have immediately picked up Jonah and thrown him off of the ship. Instead, they tried to row faster. Yet when all human effort failed, they reluctantly threw Jonah overboard and peace immediately prevailed for them.

Why didn’t Jonah just jump overboard himself? Perhaps it was not physically possible and he needed someone to lift him up and cast him into the sea. My suspicion is that as it is in most cases, the people who are bringing storms into our lives are “all about self,” especially when their needs are being met by us.

However what I have learned by experience, is that once the cause of an attack has been uncovered or revealed to me, my next step is to refuse. Sometimes you have to refuse a condition or persuasion that is within your personality or in other words, a refusal may have to be made to your flesh.

For example, if you are a person that must be liked or approved of by others, you will have to refuse your flesh in this regard. If you can answer an emphatic “yes,” to the following statements as conditions of your own flesh, refusal will eventually be in order, if you are going to effectively resist the devil:

• I try to avoid being alone

• I let other people decide what to do.

• I get upset when people don’t include me in their activities;

• I am stressed if I don’t include other people in my plans;

• I am easily led;

• I hate any form of confrontation;

• I can’t stand being left out of things;

• I am emotionally dependent upon people.

So one way to crucify your flesh is by refusing to act out its nature.

Besides refusing your former nature without Christ, there are times when you also have to refuse your former perception or understanding as it relates to spiritual and religious matters. In fact, refusal is one of the ways that we cast down our imaginations, and every thought that is contrary to our obedience to the inner leadings of the Holy Ghost.

For example, if you have assumed that God would not allow the enemy to deceive you under any circumstances, to resist the devil that is assigned to you, you will have to refuse every thought connected to this false assumption. I personally know from experience that I can be deceived by the enemy because I have been, several times in fact.

Here is a personal example. It has been revealed to me that in 1996, I founded a church based upon the nature of my flesh and the leading of the religious demon assigned to me. Certainly, I believed that I was led by God at the time. However, with the discernment and the enlightenment that I have received over time, I can look back now with such understanding. What was confusing and complicated in 1996 is obvious and simple today.

Once my eyes were fully opened in 2008, I had to exercise refusal by closing the church doors. Certainly I had to face opposition to closing it. In fact, for a year, services continued in a members home, until her eyes were also opened and the doors of the church were permanently shut, never to open again.

As soon as I took the first step of refusal as I resisted the devil, the next revelation followed. Since the enemy was the secret force that led me to start this church in the first place, it logically and spiritually follows that each and every person who played a significant role in its operations was sent by the enemy also. In 13 years, several people were involved. Out of all of them, I have contact with two persons from the former church.

I published a e-book entitled Be Delivered From Deliverance Ministry”.  If you have been in  bondage to people pleasing with deliverance workers who caused your spiritual and physical condition to worsen, you need this book.  If you have ever been in a deliverance session that lasted longer than 5 minutes, this book is for you.  If you have read a lot of books on deliverance ministry, this book will un-ravel the confusion and de-mystify how to cast out demons.

What Is A Jezebel Spirit?

14 Nov
What Is a Jezebel Spirit?
I don’t particularly like the name.  From a psychological perspective, the Jezebel spirit is a personality type.  It is called narcissistic personality disorder.  You cannot “cast out”  someone’s personality. Personality transformation is a renewal of the mind over time, a part of the deliverance counseling process.  However, from a spiritual perspective, the Jezebel “spirit” is simply a religious demon or a religious spirit. I called my third book “Faces of the Religious Demon,” because there practically countless ways that this demon manifests itself.  In the book, I present cases or profiles that were like “faces” or various facets of this demon.
There are people with religious demons who are tormented either with hearing voices, fears of having committed the unpardonable sin or of going to hell  as well constantly are bombarded by blasphemous thoughts. Some can’t even read their bibles out loud or silently. I recall a case where a captive could only read a pocket bible for fear that a demon would use her arm to pound her in the head with a hardcover, and possibly sustain  a concussion.
Need deliverance? Call 518-477-5759
So it is easy to embrace  a quick-fix  simply to relieve or stop the torment. Most workers  simply attempt to cast out demons  as a means to remove ALL  of a person’s bondages.It never really works. I have found that setting captives free who have a spirit of religiosity  in any form,  involves more than simply driving out the demons.
There are usually various strongholds to be torn down. Since strongholds are incorrect thinking patterns, this is done through the renewing of the captive’s  mind according to the Word of God. As the Lord said “you can’t put new wine into old wineskins or it will break. You can’t put a new patch of cloth on an old garment or it will tear, and you certainly cannot serve 2 masters, or you will hate the deliverance worker and love the preachers and teachers who are a significant yet hidden cause of your captivity.

The purpose of deliverance is to gain freedom from any hindrances in your life that would keep you from walking in the fullness of God’s plan for your life and your relationship with Him. Remarkably to some, it is often habitual religiosity that is the most difficult stronghold to overcome, even stronger than an addiction to alcohol or drugs because religion and “going to church” is culturally engrained and is therefore considered “the right thing to do.” It takes much time and patience to free captives from religion or a deceptive form of spirituality–a form of godliness that denies the power thereof.

A Deliverance Classic by Pam Sheppard
The bottomline is that I cannot work with a “religious captive” who continues to go to church, feed from the tables of either deceived or false prophets, and who is praying to a fake god. Therefore I mandate that while involved in deliverance counseling or mentoring with Sheppard’s Counseling Center, the captive must cease and desist from all religious activity including reading the bible and praying. Old things must pass away so that all things can become new.
“When considering the demon referred to by the field of deliverance ministry as ‘Jezebel,’ we generally think of a female seductress and therefore sexual images are foremost in our minds.  It is true that where idolatrous religions are concerned, sex, lust and worship are intricately intertwined.  But make no mistake.  The distinguishing characteristic of Jezebel, is that she is religious. Jezebel is the religious face of the spirit of the Anti-Christ, an overwhelming narcissistic prides that has an arrogant self-image of perfection. Mainly caused by a refusal to accept their own imperfections, the pride of this particular face or facet of the religious demon is the denial of a sinful nature.  For built into the soul of such a one is a strength of will that hinders a captive so afflicted, to be able to submit to the will of God. Consequently, such captive find it extremely difficult to repent.”

PROFILE OF A CONTROL FREAK Part 2

25 Oct

Consider this real life case  of a control freak with a name change. This is a woman who once was my late  pastor’s wife back in the ’80s. In fact, it was under her husband that I was licensed to preach 30 years ago today, Oct. 25, 1981.   I’ve had the opportunity to study Sister Black at least 20 years.

Sister Black is a well known, beloved, influential  lay leader in her denomination for decades.

 Much could be written about Sister Black.  Prior to his death, Rev. Black was in a constant but subtle battle with Sister Black to rule his own congregation in his own despotic way.  Rev. Black  did everything he could to block his humble acting wife  from taking over.  Sister Black was always the hurt one, portraying herself as suffering for the Lord,  by  not being understood by her coldblooded  husband. She fooled me for at least a decade, until I started seriously observing her. I could do so because we spent time together in Christian service and on a quasi-social level.

 Once Rev. Black  died, at the center of Sis. Black’s thoughts  was usually not the Lord Himself but her own spiritual journey.  Her priority in conversation is most often turned to  her newly appointed  pastor and his particular approach to leading “her” church and how the members have to seek counsel from “her” because of what the pastor is incapable of providing.  Since his appointment to Sis. Black’s church she and Rev. Johnson have been persistently battling each other over various church projects.

The warfare seems to be centered in a battle between new members and those who have been members prior to Rev. Johnson’s appointment.   For example, Sis. Black was co-chairing a project with another member and Rev. Johnson has been avoiding Sister Black and solely communicating with the other co-chair.  Now these are Sis Black’s exact words:  “Isn’t the Lord’s sense of humor so wonderful?  The co-chair fell and broke her leg and can no longer function in the job.  Now Rev, Johnson HAS to speak to ME bevause the other co-chair is out of commission.  Isn’t the Lord grand?”

If this is not an example of a neurotic control freak, then I don’t know what is.  I wonder if the sick thoughts to FORCE Rev. Johnson to speak with her directly did not cause the co-chair’s accicent.  Why?  Because Sis. Black sincerely believed that God broke the leg of one of His children so as to force Rev. Johnson to have to communicate solely with HER! This is a reprobate mind if I ever saw one yet Sis. black believes that she is a part of the remnant church.  Admittedly, her pastor DOES have his problems, but Sis. Black used her ecstatic, kundalini spirit type of experiences as a weapon to contend with him.  For example, she will appear to be completely consumed or “caught up” in the Holy Ghost—faling back and wailing loudly.  Others respond by jumping up from the pews to either restrain her or to hold her up to keep her from falling and hurting herself or those who may be sitting near her.

One of her outstanding spiritual fits occurred as the service was being brought to a close.  While the congregation was singing the doxology, suddenly Sis. Black fell  “under the anointing.” In other words, she fell backwards into an euphoric state, a form of being slain in the spirit.  Most of the congregants left the sanctuary, but a group of 10 or more women stood by her and ministered to her for another 45 minutes.  Sis Black retorted, “Rev. Johnson didn’t even stick around to minister to me.  Well, too bad, we all got caught up in the glory cloud and we had ourselves another wonderful worship service, praise the Lord! Pastor just went into his office, slammed the door and sulked.” My question is,  “How was Sis. Black  even conscious or focused on what Rev. Johnson did if she was “so caught up in the spirit.”?!

The bottom line is that Sis.  Black  is a religious control freak that desires a pastor–any pastor— to humble himself to HER  so that she controls every aspect of church life. She had every opportunity to enter ministry herself, but the devil likes to use her to keep other pastors in bondage.  Her “opponent,” Rev. Johnson is one of the denomination’s most popular sermonizers, yet he is a homosexual, raising adopted  male children as a “single parent.”  The late Rev. Black was a cold, lifeless pastor who hated  bible study and who restrained anyone who seemed to be genuinely saved.  He was also an adulterer, almost understandable— living with a woman like Sis. Black.

 The visible church  has  several of these kinds of people in them. The true story of Sis. Black, Rev. Black and Rev. Johnson is typical in the church world where I served as a minister for 25 years.  Today-October 25-is my 30th year in ministry.   The good news is that the organized church is not the Body of Christ.  Therefore, if you desire to come out of the bondage of religion, you can do so.  The Lord will not work in the organized church in its present condition, so you need to commit yourself to become free. Judgment has come to the household of faith because God’s people are unable to repent.  Control freaks of this kind are completely out of touch with who they really are and therefore they can not even approximate normality because to their spiritual strangeness has been accepted by them to be normal. If you want to be set free to grow in Christ, then the phone lines are open at 518-477-5759.

PROFILE OF A CONTROL FREAK Part 1

Paul taught the Galatians that witchcraft and idolatry are “works of the flesh.” A work of the flesh is simply a character flaw of the old sin nature BEFORE Christ that lingers on if the person does not submit him or herself to the cross. To submit to the cross is to allow the Holy Spirit to progressively break you in both your personality and your character traits.So what does this mean, exactly. Does it mean that demons are not involved in a “work of the flesh?” Absolutely not. Witchcraft and idolatry are demonic practices. What it DOES mean is that people who have witchcraft in them as a work of the flesh—a personality flaw— are more susceptible to demonic influence, particularly religious demons and devils.

 I have witnessed too many manifestations of evil spirits in ALL of the works of the flesh, so clearly there are two definitions of witchcraft andidolatry. Where a work of the flesh is a personality type that is predisposed to demonic involvement, the actual act of witchcraft and idolatry are demonic practices. When demons are looking for “human workers” to implement their agenda, they target people who already have witchcraft and idolatry built into their persona as “a work of the flesh.”Along these lines, the witchcraft demon is attracted to a person with a soul that is predisposed to to the three (3) “P”s of position, prestige and power. Those who wish to dominate, to acquire fame and prominence, can become a safe haven for the witchcraft demon.

In such cases, the captive’s own personality will be a secure place in which demons of a similar nature will be able to hide and secretly function. This is because no one will suspect that the captive’s ambitious striving for control and domination is demonic because the captive has continued to demonstrate over time a steady pattern that propels them to seek power. Consequently, everyone just assumes that the captive is simply being true to his nature or character and therefore, doesn’t have a demon. The witchcraft demon will also hide within weaker personalities.

For example, there are those who wear a facade of false humility, who appear to be very self-effacing and passive. However, deep within his or her soul is a striving to “be somebody.” People with this kind of soul will offer up many testimonies of their inadequacies and their lack of ambition, yet when confronted, they will show in their actions that they are not at all convinced of their own unworthiness. In fact, when there is even a minor concern or question about their actions or motives in a particular situation, they will become extremely defensive and resentful. If others show a tendency to take their self-belittling attitude and recriminations seriously, a seething anger may erupt that is out of balance and extreme. For instance, while the so-called “humble” will proclaim their unworthiness, a witchcraft demon will cause them to make great demands for consideration and admiration from others. The witchcraft spirit will rise up and expose itself in these “low key” people, presenting a strong unwillingness to accept even the slightest degree of criticism.

You will find many people like this among professing Christians.  They are passive on the outside but inside, they are seething, ravenous wolves who will use a humble demeanor and manner as a weapon to bring others down.  Repressed anger and envy has opened passive-aggressive people to a religious demon. In such cases, passivity masquerades and humility. The inner hostilities are hidden from view by a veneer of a pretended politeness, feigned fair play and an appearance of good fellowship.  This “front” is a coverup used in subtle ways to move against perceived enemies in an effort to shame others with their “nice” behavior.  The facade consists of pretenses, hidden fears and some genuine caring mixed in with an ability to make YOU look bad in comparison to THEM.
