How Religious Demons Enter the Pulpit

How Religious Demons Enter the Pulpit by Pam Sheppard

I was a preacher for almost 3 decades. I preached an average of one sermon a week for 20 years, with 8 of those years preaching 3 sermons a week.  On one occasion in the pulpit, I felt a strange power come upon me where it seemed I was “not myself.” I was in a rather strong altered state of consciousness. I thought is was an extra powerful anointing of the Holy Ghost. IT WAS NOT!!!

When I was sent to church for the first time  in 1979, I had never heard a sermon and so when I was informed in 1981 that upon entering ministry, I would be required to preach a trial sermon on October 25, 1981, I had no idea what a sermon was. In the summer of ’81, I began to preach in my sleep, in preparation for the October day of trial. I also walked around all day for about 30 days, muttering “sermons.”

I thought that I was under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. It took about 25 years for me to find out that in those early and strange days, I was under the “anointing” of the religious demon assigned to me. I thank God that when I  DID enter the pulpit to preach and pastor, it was only ONE time in at least 2 thousand sermons that  same strange  power came upon me. I have since discovered that it is a demonic power, in no way, the Holy Ghost.

Oh yes! Religious demons enjoy preaching.

I came out of a denomination where men who were adulterers, fornicators, perverts, closet homosexuals could preach so hard, that they could affect even me, in spite of what I knew about the intimate, sometimes secret details of their lives. At least 10 times a year, 50 ministers gathered at various regional church functions and a handful would preach at these gatherings.

When they were preaching, I  harnessed down my soul from being overpowered, but there were times when I could not. Their power was too strong.  I often wondered about it over the years. How could these corrupt men overtake my soul with one of their sermons in spite of my resistance to it? Could this be God? Would God use such sinful creatures to preach HIS WORD???!!!

It took two decades or more to find out the answer to that question. The answer is NO!!!! The Holy Ghost does not anoint such preachers but the devil DOES!!!. It is called communal intoxication by the founder of sociology, Max Weber.

Communal intoxication is defined by Weber as the supernormal ability of magicians, wizards, witches and charismatic religious leaders. With the god concept at its center, they induce an altered state of consciousness in their followers as demonstrated by the congregation’s manifestation of convulsions, trembling, and intense effusions of excitement and ecstasy. (Come Out of Her God’s People, pg 190)

Weber points out that that communal intoxication has a contagious effect where it can spread throughout  an audience or congregation of people, infecting those assembled with sensations of enhanced emotionalism and vitality. This definition explains the so-called holy dance, holy rollers, holy laughter, running around the church building, perhaps even tongues and slain in the spirit phenomena.

This power was manifested in my presence for 25 years  among denominational African-American preachers. Keep in mind that Weber’s studies were predominately tribal communities on other continents, including Africa and Asia. Weber’s findings suggest that the altered state appeal has a significant connection to today’s charismatic leaders’ ability to cause large numbers of people to believe that they have been released from bondage and that they have “heard from God.”

As a result, what has been happening in church is that demons have been using corrupt ministers to preach. I would say that is reason enough to “COME OUT OF HER, GOD’S PEOPLE.”

Beware of Taking Scripture Out of Its Natural Context

4 Nov

Since preachers take scripture out of their natural context to preach a sermon, we do the same thing when we read, study and apply various texts to our particular situation, like occultist and new agers use astrology and other forms of divination. For example, some use psalm 37 in the wrong way, particularly where it comes to dealing with enemies when Jesus told us to love our enemies in the 4 gospels.

Paul wrote to the Galatians that anyone who adds to or detracts from the word of God brings a curse or in other words, “a plague” on both the culprits and the victims they teach.  Paul declared it THIS way: If any man preach any other gospel, other than what i have preached, LET HIM BE CURSED.” (Gal 1:9)

Two thousand years have passed since Paul’s rather serious proclamation.  I am not a historian, but I would imagine that any church or religion professing to be Christian that either subtracts from or adds to  the gospel of Jesus Christ has reaped the fruit of this curse, from one generation to another. Today, there are countless people who are being oppressed and tormented by demons because they are listening to those who are preaching “another gospel.”

In this generation, there are more false doctrines that have been created by  preachin and teachin folk who  either added to or took away  from the gospel of Jesus Christ,  than most people could count.  Even in things that seem insignificant.  Take for example, the verse in Luke 13, when Jesus healed a woman who had been  crippled—bowed down by the devil for 18 years.  After the Lord cast that demon of infirmity  from her by healing her, He said “Woman, thou are loosed!”

Yet TD Jakes –an intelligent, well learned preacher— took the Lord’s words, and turned it into “somethin else.”  In other words, he added to it a meaning that the Lord did not mean and he created a “Christian woman’s liberation movement out of it,” even made a movie—called it “Woman Thou Art Loosed,” a movie  where a woman takes a gun while in church, and shoots a man who had raped her when she was a child,— at the very moment the man was touched and moving toward the altar to be saved.  Now, that is adding to and detracting from the Lord’s own words  to the max, and making millions of dollars out of the words that are written in the gospels concerning the Lord’s ministry of deliverance. What did the Lord mean by those words?  He meant “woman you are no longer bound by a demon because I have just set you free from your arthritic condition.  What does deliverance of a physically crippled woman  from demons  have to do with women’s liberation and shooting rapists in church?

These are the kinds of things professing Christians are doing EVERYDAY.  They are adding to and detracting from the bible and wondering why they are in the devil’s hands.

Fortune Teller or Prophet: You be the Judge Part 2

17 Oct
Minister Marlene

Fortune teller or prophet? Can you judge? This is part 2. In my last article I explained that ‘prophets in the organized church fool you. They claim their prophecy is from God. But we know from scripture that the devil can prophecy.

You remember the women fortune-teller that prophesied  to Apostle Paul. Paul cast that spirit out. Now you know for sure, devils DO  have information. What then? Well you know that the wheat and the tare grow together. So, how do you know where a prophecy comes from concerning you, or anything else? Listen, I never saw this connection. By the grace of God, I learned that prophets can be fortune tellers from Pam’s teachings.

Pam Sheppard is an expert in deliverance counseling, and has 37 years experience as a licensed therapist, with 30 of those years  as a pastor and  deliverance counselor. Not only that, Pam herself, was deeply entrenched in the occult before she got saved. If anybody can discern who’s a prophet, or whose a fortune-teller it would be Pam. You could do this too, if you study the devil. Plus, you need to be truly saved, to discern truth from falsehood.
I’m going to share an excerpt from Pam’s textbook, entitled ” Faces of the Religious Demon “, the most comprehensive text on religious demons in the world.

Pam writes:
As a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, since March 29, 1977, I am a believer who has withstood a lot of deception simply because I have walked ” too comfortably” in things supernatural.  For three years prior to becoming a Christian, I was deeply entrenched in  New Age occultism, included but not limited to necromancy, hypnosis, telekinesis and astrology.

Pam Sheppard-Expert and specialist in deliverance counseling (518)477-5759

Once I converted to Christianity  and became exposed to religion, the organized church was ill-equipped to advise me on how to recognize demonic deception.

Now, my dear reader, can you see what I’m talking about? Pam Sheppard has been in the enemy’s camp. Once she became a believer, she of all people, knew good and well that the organized church has NO knowledge of dealing with the devil. Don’t you see? Pam was ENTRENCHED in the occult. If you’ve taken the needed time to browse around Pam Sheppard Publishing to read, and learn, you know just how deep into the occult Pam was.

My friends, prophets in the church absolutely can be fortune tellers. If you read Pam’s books, you’ll know exactly how and why. Even so,  the Apostle Paul had a run-in with a fortune-teller who insisted on giving prophecy about himself and his brethren. Here’s the kicker: the fortune-teller was correct. Apostle Paul cast that spirit of divination right out of her.

Can you really afford  NOT take Pam’s deliverance mentoring program? Pam is hitting you with truth on every side. Time is always running out, and each day we grow closer to the Lord’s return. Are you truly saved? Have you ingested false prophecy? Are you a prophet, who suspects you might  really be a fortune-teller?

Has the devil been revealing information to you? Do you hear voices? Suffering from depression? Caught out there in domestic violence? Are memories of incest or rape harassing you? Do you just need to talk? Call Sheppard’s counseling Center NOW at (518)477-5759. The lines are open, and we’re waiting to serve you.

Fortune Teller or Prophet? You be the Judge Part 1

17 Oct
By Minister Marlene

Fortune teller or prophet? If you hold the title of prophet, you might just be under demonic deception. Here’s why: the devil can find out information too. A fortune teller had a fielday with Apostle Paul in scripture. She ran around announcing who Paul was. Apostle Paul cast a demon out from this woman. What we fail to understand, or bother to take note of, is the fact that devils, fallen angels and demons also have information.

That’s why, if you do go to a fortune teller they can give you bits of information. If you’ve paid attention to Pam’s teachings, you will note that she expounds on this topic.

I’ll tell you a little story. When I was new in the word of faith church, a so-called prophet used to follow me around with a word. In fact, after every service, this fella’ was doing a side show. He would start up the madness during fellowship. Seemed he found a new target in me. One day I just had to politely tell him to stop it. I didn’t know much then, but I knew this guy was out of order. Here’s the kicker: members would even ask him if he had a word for them.

Now you tell me, was this fella’ a fortune teller or a prophet? I say he was a fortune teller, because he would conjure up a so-called word from the Lord at the drop of a hat. Plus, as you know from Pam’s counterfeit birth teachings, many in the organized church are unsaved. You yourself know
that the wheat and the tares will grow together.  You know this from scripture.

Prophet? The word " prophet " is not just a Christian word. The definition of prophet is one who fortells the future. As well as one who delivers divine messages. We forget that the worlds definition of divine includes the devil. Some worship the devil. Fortune tellers and witches worship the devil, whether they know it or admit it.

The organized church has absolutely no idea of how to deal with demonic affliction. Consider this: I suffered from depression, a demonic spirit, for years. The organized church promoted worldly counseling. Really? Yes they did. We can’t counsel or talk demons away, they must be cast out. I came to my senses and decided to follow Christ’s directives. I cast the spirit of depression out myself. But it took years of me mucking about with the church. I knew I had to leave, what kind of church can’t deal with demons? The anser is: the organized church, every last one of them.

I want to give you now, an excerpt from Pam Sheppard’s textbook on the religious demon, entitled ” Faces of the Religious Demon”.

To be continued…

If you think you need deliverance please call Pam Sheppard at (518)477-5759. The phone lines are open now. Pam Sheppard has over 25 years pastorial experience, and over 37 years experience as a deliverance counselor. This fact alone should convince you to make the call. Pam is the pioneer creator of a deliverance, mentoring, teaching program called SEW, or the ” Spiritual Empowerment Workshop”. In fact, all that I’ve shared in the above article, came out of my SEW teachings. Pam Sheppard is highly skilled at pointing folks to scripture ,and shining a floodlight on points we always miss. More than this she is THE teacher for such a time as this.

ARE THERE ANY PROPHETS TODAY?

12 Oct

To answer that question, ARE THERE ANY PROPHETS TODAY–  one of the signs that we are living in the last days is the emergence of various internet watchmen. The prophets of old were watchmen. They warned God’s people about “what’s goin on” in the religious world. Some–not all–of these websites are inspired by present day prophets.

Their tools are different. All prophets SPEAK because they are compelled by God to do so. Today, the watchman’s voice is heard predominately through the written word, while others may speak out in a video. Some emphasize informing the people about specific false prophets and ministries. That is an exhaustive task that requires a 24/7 devotion, because there are so many false prophets and ministries to expose. Since these prophetic web ministrues  only target high profile people and their false practices,  they are hindered by not covering other ministries that are equally  noteworthy but only known locally.

Much falls between the cracks.

I preach repentance and the return of the Lord. I cast out demons and I receive visions and dreams.

I used to be a watchman on the web exposing false prophets with a website that I have since closed down called “Beware Christian”. I had to literally DROP IT, because it devoured  too much of my time and I found it counterproductive FOR ME as an author, a counselor and a trainer of ministers.  Nevertheless, I thank God for prophetic, watchman type ministeries of Midnight Cry, Straight is the Way, Deception in the Church,Equip, Paw Creek and others. I now refer seekers to them and I do “another thing.”

To really answer the question in the title, we need to look at the new testament. The prophet that stands out in the gospel days of the Lord’s own ministry  is John the Baptist. The Lord said that John the Baptist is the greatest of ALL prophets, so we need to look at John’s ministry rather closely. John’s prophetic ministry was essentially that he prepared the people of his day for the FIRST coming of the Lord by preaching repentance. John the Baptist did not have the gift of perdicting the future as did the Apostle John. It should be noted that when Jesus called John the Baptist the greatest prophet, the Apostle John was not yet so anointed as a prophet.

However, together, I believe that  BOTH Johns are a composite template of a present day prophet. A present day prophet is one who:

  • Like the Baptist, prepares the last generations for the SECOND coming of the Lord
  • by preaching repentance.  The job is now complicated by the fact that thanks to the organized church and it easy believism, I accept Jesus into my heart, sinner’s prayer practices, so many believe that they are saved but the one who they “accepted” is the fake Jesus, Jesus Sananda Immanuel.
  • Like the Apostle, present day prophets will be given supernatural predictions that are specific to the endtime survival of the elect of God.For example, when we cannot buy and sell, endtime prophets will be able to multiply “the loaves and the fishes” and bring the water from the rocks aas did Moses—AS THE HOLY GHOST LEADS!
  • During the reign of the Anti-Christ, end time prophets will move in the supernatural gifts of the Spirit because miracles, healings, and supernatural power will be needed in order for God’s people to survive, a power simiilar to that of Moses as he brought God’s people out of the bondage of Egypt. Casting out of demons will be one of the prophet’s manysupernatural gifitings not according to the prophet’s will, but at the will and command of the Holy Ghost.

Spiritual discernment will be essential to distingush between a false and a true prophet for both shall have supernatural powers.
