The Battle Against Sinful Deceit

14 Aug

SIN IS ALWAYS up to no good. Sin is what always wants us, always knocking on the door, always wanting our desires, always needy and desperate for our hearts. There are countless sins that tempt us, and everyday not only are we wrestling against wicked principalities, the schemes of Satan, but also sin.

The world we live in is sin-sick. The religion, the politics, all the systems of the world are contaminated with sin. I honestly can’t go somewhere for just 15 minutes without some kind of sin popping up in my face. Sin is tolerated, accepted, and even encouraged by the world. Sinful ideas, beliefs, and thoughts are always being projected, and my flesh always wanting to cave in. It requires various mental and spiritual diligence to resist and wrestle against sin these days. Being in the endtimes, sin and lawlessness were prophesied to be at an all-time high, like never seen before. We know the season that is approaching as we can tell simply by how more and more wicked things are becoming.

I must confess that I can be weak in this fight against sin and death. But even in my weakness, and struggle I don’t need to fall into despair.

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weakness, but One who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15)

If there’s One Person who knows sin yet knows nothing about sinning, it’s our King and Priest—Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He was tempted, tried, and tested in every aspect. There is no temptation that the Lord does not understand, and cannot sympathize with. We do not have a religious control freak that condemns, installs fear, and creates religious bondage in order to “help” the fight against sin. No, we have an incredible glorious Lord Jesus who is perfectly holy, and is a perfect Priest to minister to His people and their struggles. Our faithful High Priest Jesus, the Son of God intercedes for us constantly. We have such an Advocate!

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

Not only do we have an incredible victorious King Jesus, our High Priest—Mediator of a New Covenant; we also have Pam Sheppard Ministries, God’s very own chosen and redeemed through Christ to help, comfort, exhort, and encourage during these perilous times.

“Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.” (Hebrews 3:12-14)

We at Pam Sheppard Ministries are on guard, vigilant, watching, and about the Father in Heaven’s business through the Son. We are centered on the Lord Jesus through whom all things came to be. We are constantly standing in the Gospel, and have our loins strapped tightly with the truth, and ready to draw out the sword of the Holy Spirit at any moment.

In the battle against sin, death, the devil and deceit—Pam Sheppard Ministries knows how to properly exhort—the Greek word (παρακαλέω) gives the idea of “near calling” or “urging.” And since we are an online ministry we are always available and near, day by day, to urge and encourage you, so your heart is not hardened by sin’s deceit.

With all that said, brothers and sisters in Christ, I urge you to continue to fight this good fight, take-every thought captive unto the obedience of Christ, stand against the schemes of the devil, resist the deceit of sin, and hold on to your original confidence in Christ Jesus until the end! I also encourage and urge those who are new to Pam Sheppard Ministries to continue in the truth, learn, and use the counseling sessions of Pastor Pam for YOUR benefit.
